Al Noor opened its doors to serve people with disabilities more than 4 decades ago. At a time, when there was an acute need to have a place of learning and training for people with disabilities and almost none existed. There weren’t too many centres like ours then, so Al Noor became a guiding light to the community. And I can proudly say, that even today, Al Noor continues to fulfil that role. Our continual growth, combined with our belief in the benefits of neurodiversity, and guidance from policies and legislations like UNCRPD, the federal law 29 and the Dubai Disability Strategy 2020, we have set goals for ourselves to have a wider impactful influence in the community. We at Al Noor work on identifying barriers that prevent access and full participation for our students and find ways to eliminate these barriers. Overcoming barriers through dynamic action and determination, we have broadened the scope of service provision by adopting the latest technologies and methodologies to strive for inclusion for our students.
